A expressed an interesting us cutting paper. So while he used (real) scissors to cut into paper, I cut up shapes as well. He named the shapes (he got most of them but I had to remind him what a rectangle and a square was). We coated a page in his art book with glue and then he stuck the shapes down.

This Montessori inspired activity uses beans and small bells. The child uses a pair of tongs to transfer the bells into a bowl.

This is a really simple Montessori inspired activity. I bought a bag of coloured wooden beads from a craft shop. The sorting tray was from some Christmas tree decorations a few years ago. I popped a bead of each colour into the tray sections and A went to town. When he made a mistake is really stood out so he could correct it himself, just as he’s doing in the photo.
I’ve missed blogging. I’ve also put off starting a new one. Too much effort. But there. I’ve done it now. Tick that off the list of things to do. First blog post. Tick that off the list of things to do. Let’s see what happens next.
